Hi if you have a work permit and all the correct paperwork how long does it normally take to process and obtain a new B visa or a extension of stay based on work. How long before your current visa expires should you apply?

If applying for Non-B visa you would obtain from embassy/consulate abroad. You will need to provide full company paperwork and work permit or Form WP3 (receipt for application for work permit from Labour Department). Apply just before your visa expires. Usually collect next day.

You can apply for extension of stay based on employment if you meet the requirements, being 50k/month salary for westerner (but varies on nationality) plus work permit and employer ability to provide company paperwork and 2 years audited accounts/tax receipts. You would normally apply during the last 30 days of your current permission to stay. Issued same day if paperwork in order.
