I'm a guy who really is not into shopping, but I've been requested to see if cloth or clothing made of BAMBOO fibers is available in Chiang Mai by my sister who will be visiting soon.

Apparently, bamboo cloth and clothing is all the rage in the US.

A few years ago I saw a merchant selling bamboo clothing at the San Kampaeng Saturday walking street. She told me it was made locally. Sorry I don't have any more specific or up-to-date info. But you could give San Kampaeng a try on a Saturday - it's a much more calm alternative to the walking streets in Chiang Mai.
