We are going to be in Krabi at Christmas and would like to stay on the beach for Christmas day.

Does anyone know of a beach hut/bungalow type place at Koh Lanta or if not there somewhere else nearby?

The cheaper the better.

Also, can someone recommend a good website for looking for such accommodation?

Check with Relax Bay Resort and Kantiang Bay Resort

try "somewhere else" on Long beach, basic, but the nicest spot for me on Lanta. directly on the beach, cheap rooms and cheap and excellent food. Run by Daeng and Tom, and their families, very friendly and welcoming.
