Vaccinations

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I know this question has probably been asked many times but I'm confused as to what vaccinations I need... having contacted my doctor surgery twice over the past 2 weeks to get advice, they just keep telling me to ring back later as they are busy with swine flu vaccinations!

Anyway, I am going to Thailand at Christmas for 2-3 weeks. Whilst there we will be doing some climbing in Krabi and also going out to Ubon Ratchathani and staying in my sister-in-laws village for a week.

So, what vaccinations do I need and when do I need to get them?

Thanks for your help!

Nothing that you would not have at home. This is not the gutters of Bangladesh or the Congo. You can get vaccinated hear for Chang Beer, Thai Whiskey and the ladies. The ladies??? :)

A Tetanus vaccination is definitely recommended if you are a climber, but you probably already have that. For a one week stay, you will not need Hepatitis A, if you only use bottled water and fresh well cooked food. Then just bring some good mosquito repellant for the chilly December Ubon nights.
