Uk Visa Card Lowers Thailand Withdrawal Limit

Featured Replies

As of 1st November UK Visa cards are limiting Thailand atm withdrawals to £50 down from £200.

Before, I was having no worries withdrawing up to THB10K - it used to be 20k a few years ago.

Apparently LoS now tops the SEA for fraud hence the severe cap.

One way around this is to go to a bank and withdraw larger amounts and use your passport as ID.

Along with the atm charges of 150 baht, I suppose it's time to get around opening up a thai bank account! :)

delimiting withdrawal from 20k to 10k....?

that must be tough to adjust to.... lol

agree.... opening up a thai acct would be more beneficial really....

Normally, this is a call be the issuing bank, not the network (Visa).

Whats your source please issuing bank?

can we have any clarification on this, as 10 K wont get you to far...

If I read this correctly, they brought it down to 50 Pounds, which is only around 2700 Baht, down from 200 Pounds which is 11,000 Baht...

But indeed need to see source as this a bit too low to be true!

i think if correct this is not going to be all banks , just a certain one.

lloydstsb have a 200 pound daily limit

nationwide have a 300 pound daily limit.

so just because there both visa does not mean they are the same

I suppose it all depends on where you live and how you spend your money.

10k will last me a couple of weeks usually but then again I live upcountry where there ain't no girlie bars. :D:)

Stupid boy Pike.

I am sorry but I misread the thread a bit.

I use my LloydsTSB debit card which has not changed NOT a credit card. :D:D

RBS - Adam & Co subsidiary apologizing that it is out of their control

& that Visa have determined that Thailand ATM fraud is to high a risk.

It seems rather strange that I drew 10,000bt on my Nationwide Visa card yesterday then :)
