American Dies In Apartment

Featured Replies

On Thursday afternoon, Pattaya Police were notified that a tourist had died in Lee Garden Apartments, located on Soi 2, North Pattaya Road. Police quickly rushed to the scene with Sawangboriboon volunteers.

Upon arrival, Police went up to the room, and discovered the dead body of Mr. Richard Lynn, aged 60, an American citizen, lying face down on the floor beside the bed. The deceased was wearing only a t-shirt, and Police estimated that he had died about 2 hours previously. Officers checking inside the room found a hospital receipt from October 27, 2009, and no sign of found play.

A receptionist at the apartments told Police that the deceased checked in on October 26, and was a regular customer of the apartments. Normally, he was friendly with everybody, and liked to drink whiskey, especially Thai white whiskey. After drinking, he usually would not eat anything, so she used to buy some food for him, because she was afraid that the deceased would get faint from not eating.

As of Thursday afternoon, she had not seen the deceased come out of his room, so she asked a maid to knock on his door, but there was no answer. At this point she took a spare key and opened the room, and discovered the deceased lying on the floor. They approached him and found that he was dead already, and so Police were called to investigate.

In a preliminary finding, the Police assumed that Mr. Lynn might have been drinking too much, and not eating at all, and then perhaps he fainted, falling on his head. The blow to his head may have brought on his demise. However, the body will be sent for an autopsy and the American Embassy will be contacted.
