November 8, 200916 yr I don't know what the truth is, but I will related something that happened yesterday. My significant other (Thai) and I went into the Emporium to shop. I said, "Tell me about the M Card." We went over the counter and each got one. MY SO and the clerk were chatting along in Thai all the while. Later I asked what the clerk was talking about. "He said farang M Cards (which do say expatriate on them) sometimes get better discounts or special offers than Thai's cards do. My SO said that didn't seem fiar, and I just started laughing.

November 8, 200916 yr Before it was changed again recently, my expat M card would only give me a discount after 800 baht, but the normal card gave the discount after either 300 or 400 baht (I forgot which one).
