A Break For Expats?

Featured Replies

I don't know what the truth is, but I will related something that happened yesterday.

My significant other (Thai) and I went into the Emporium to shop. I said, "Tell me about the M Card." We went over the counter and each got one. MY SO and the clerk were chatting along in Thai all the while. Later I asked what the clerk was talking about. "He said farang M Cards (which do say expatriate on them) sometimes get better discounts or special offers than Thai's cards do. My SO said that didn't seem fiar, and I just started laughing.

Central & Robinson also have an Expat card that gives a 5% discount at the cash register. My Thai wife said, in Thai, <deleted>!!

It's about time. Working expats get very little value for their tax dollars (or baht).

Before it was changed again recently, my expat M card would only give me a discount after 800 baht, but the normal card gave the discount after either 300 or 400 baht (I forgot which one).

What is the name of the cards at Central and Robinsons.

Where inside the store do you ask for them?

"What is the name of the cards at Central and Robinsons."
