Location: Tumbon Nongkonkru, Ampher Sansai

Habitat brings Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project to Thailand 82 homes to be built to commemorate HM the King’s 82nd Birthday

On December 5, 2009, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej will be 82 years old. In honour of His Majesty’s birthday and his long and benevolent reign over the Kingdom and in service to his people, Habitat for Humanity Thailand will build 82 homes in partnership with families in need during the 26th annual Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project in Chiang Mai, November 15-20, 2009.

The Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project, now in its 26th year, is one of Habitat’s most successful projects to raise awareness, build communities, and change lives. Former US President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn’s involvement with Habitat for Humanity International began in 1984 when the former president led a work group to New York City to help renovate a six-story building with 19 families in need of shelter. That experience planted the seed, and the Carter Work Project has been an internationally recognized event ever since. Each year, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter give a week of their time to build homes and raise awareness of the critical need for affordable housing. We ask you to join us in this effort.
