arriving Krabi by plane next week for the first time,

looking for a low cost place to stay for a month,

can't find any info on da forum about guesthouses etc,

not sure what area is best to stay, l usually stay in backpacker areas,

is there a backpacker area?

where is the main area for guesthouses?

any recommendations?

The backpackers commonly stay in Krabi town. There are many guesthouses you can't find on the internet. Just walk in. In Ao Nang you hardly find anymore guesthouses close to the beach. But 10-15 walk you'll get there. Again, just walk in an look around in the upper Ao Nang village or at the next beach named Hat Nopparathara. Plenty of vacancies at this time of the season

A good place is J.P's Mansion, 52 Maharat Rd. Soi 5, easiest way to find it is ask for greenhouse hotel and J.P. is opposite. Cheap, clean and most importantly, quiet! Run by a top geezer called Rin. Just got back from there and I'm missing it already. Have a nice holiday.
