Wants To Stay In Thailand For 6 Months: Only A Non-imm, Single-entry,category B

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

Hoping some of you here could help me out. I'm leaving for Thailand in 2 days... I'm hoping to stay 6 months to train Muay Thai and fight. Now my embassy here in Canada..didnt help me out much...and all I could get from them was a Non-Imm, category B Visa..which is good for 90 days..and one entry. The woman claimed at the embassy that I could get it extended for 6 months in Thailand upon arrival? If I explain that i'm training at a camp for 6 months..I really doubt this is true.

Anyhow.. My main questions is. After my first 90 days (i'll be in Phuket). Can I do a Visa run somewhere and get a toursit visa for 60 days? and extend it for another 30, to get my final 90 days needed to stay in the country???

Thanks in advance,

Nick

In all propability you will not be able to extend, as for that immigration requires the school to be officialy registered as an educatonal institution. Your school will kno best if they qualify, but immigration isn't keen anymore on giing extensions based on training muay Thai.

You can get a tourist visa, without much trouble. Good for 60 days and can be extended by another 30 days. I think Kuala Lumphur would be best for you.

No you can not just extend 6 months on arrival - but you can easily leave and obtain a tourist visa and extend that 30 days so the six months should not be a major problem.
