hi all ...

hmmm ... usually i don't like to spend my money for senseless stuff ...

but to be honest, the small remote controlled helicopters attract me :)

there are different sizes ... i am not sure whether it's better to buy a small or a big one ...

smallest cost less than 1000 baht ...

and i am not sure about the quality ...

and about the prizes ... where can i find those helis at good prices in bangkok?

MBK? tesco?

it would be great to get some feedback ...

Waist of money. The ones I have seen are simply not good. Maybe if you can find a good Japanese brand, but otherwise the batteries are terrible and you won't do much flying.

Most supermarkets and department stores have them.

I have two small heli on a shelf of my son's room. Very poor battery life, very difficult to proper fly, not easy to manoevre (they pretty go where they want), easy to break and, most of all, must fly only in total absence of any wind.

Moral:

my friend had one. you have to leave it plugged all the time and only play with it 10-15mins.. It,s a nice toy unless you have no life and expect to take it out on a special lover's date to the park and spend 10hours holding hands and flying together :)

I have also seen in demonstration at central some kind of remote control bird that flaps his wings.. looked like it was easier to control than those helicopters u might wnt to check it out it seemed really <deleted> awesome

If you want to throw away a few thousand baht go ahead, if you want something that is good you will pay a lot of money.

Little electric ones - waste of money: if you want to fly an R/C heli - go buy one of the Japanese 30 or 60 size nitro's (kit) and get someone to teach you properly at a flying field (a few around Bkk) or you'll be spending all your time rebuilding it (you have to think in reverse when the thing is in the air and truns round to face you -left becomes right and right becomes left, forward becomes reverse and reverse becomes forward - takes some eye-hand/co-ordination relearning).

You also get 30 and 60 size electric heli's - just as pricy as the big nitro's.

The little garden ones are fun - but the real fun is to be had with the larger models. There is a group of locals just near my place that go out daily flying their Raptor 90's.

Suffice to say, I recently invested in this, so we can make use of our lake in the village.
