Poipet E-visa Window Open Yet?

Featured Replies

I haven't had to do a Visa stamp run to Poipet in a while... But I have to start again in a few weeks (if the Border stays open)!

On the Cambodia e-Visa site they say to go direct to the e-Visa window when you arrive...

But when I used to do this a few years ago they never had a special window for e-Visa, even though the web site said there was.

Has this changed?

Is there now a Dedicated e-Visa window at Poipet Immigration?

Any recent confirmation would be helpful.

Thanks,

CS

used evisa many times last about 5 months ago.

Never seen a special window.

I think they only have 3 windows allthough only 1 or 2 open whenever I've been there, never had to wait more than a few minuets.

No special eVisa window/counter. And don't get stuck at the Visa On Arrival Office (after the health check just around the big stone arc spanning over the road) since you already have a Visa! Proceed aaaall the way to Cambodian immigration after the Casino Hotels where you will get your exit stamp.

welo

I was at Poipet on Nov 2nd with eVisa. Once you have exited Thailand, go straight to Cambodia Arrivals Passport Control & get your entry stamp. There will be an official handing out arrival cards. As already stated, no special eVisa counter. If they ask you if you are returning the same day, say no and you are going to a casino too gamble. Then cross the road to Cambodia departures and exit.

Did it yesterday, got the e-visa through this morning by email. Just need to print two copies.

One thing this does do is save pages in your passport. The Khmers and the Laos think it's important to use up a whole page of your passport every time you go there, which really irritates me. I guess this e-visa thing prevents that.

thats extremely handy to know .. because i was thinking the same thing about those stickers .. they take up so much space and the small rubber stamps they use end up being like 5 pages back that refer to the same sticker .. which in turn confuses the hel_l out of everyone trying to find the most up to date information

not to mention the fact that for someone from the UK who travels a lot would have to pay out another £124.50 for a 32 page passport or £150.50 for 48 pages everytime their passport gets full up with these stupid stickers.. im not sure about the prices for other countries but these new biometric passports are not cheap..lol

Not sure, but I think you can have pages put in or the passport refilled . . . dunno?

Most countries, including UK, do not allow additional pages (but the US does).

i should have added that .. i had to look on the website for the prices ..lol.. UK doesnt allow you to add pages .. if your passport is full up you have to get a new one ..

however if it is full up but still hasnt expired , they can add up to 9 months extra onto your new one

Thank you for that information, Thaiphoon. Without this e-visa thing, reckon my 48 pager would be full in 3 years.
