Uk Visa Question For Thai Lady

Featured Replies

I saw the thread not so long back -

Thai Girl Has UK Visa But Finished With Boyfriend, Can Still Use?

this actually was a situation that i found myself in about a year ago, where the Thai lady in question had a visa granted with another sponsor. I didnt actually think of the complications at the time and she came over and visited me for 6 weeks and flew back. She actually was late returnng to Thailand as it was around the time of the problems at the airport in BKK and her visa expired about 5 days before she flew back. She never had any problems entering or leaving the UK.

Anyway my question is.. If we were to apply for a visa again is this going to be a problem? I have read that honesty is the best policy on this forum when applying for a visa and if any lies are found out then the visa will just be rejected. However from reading the previous thread it sounds like she entered the UK illegally so how is the best way to approach this?

thanks in advance

Honesty is always, IMHO, the best policy. Telling the truth may cause complications; lying will definitely do so!

As you will, presumably, be sponsoring this application then you should include a brief history of the relationship in the application, so you will also need to explain what happened to her previous sponsor and why she used the visa sponsored by him/her to visit you. Explain that at the time you and she were unaware that this was technically an illegal entry.

They will see from the Thai entry stamp in her passport that she was late returning to Thailand, so you should also explain that this was due to flights being delayed by the problems at Suvarnaburi at that time.

That's my take on the situation, hopefully someone with a more intimate knowledge of the fine details of the UK immigration rules and procedures, e.g. Scouse, will be able to advise.
