Book Swapping

Featured Replies

I have been reading about this website recently. It is for swapping books within the UK. It is free - all you pay for is the postage. I am a book obsessive, but living in Trang there is no where to buy new books from. I can order them for Asia books, but that gets very pricey especially at the speed that I read.

Would any other ladies, or men, be interested in starting up a book swapping group within Thailand? Think it would make sense as postage is so cheap here. Also I never tend to reread books so am very interested in being able to swap them for something I really want to read.

Was thinking about maybe setting it up as a group email or as a facebook group. And then possibly a web site if needs allowed.

What do you think ladies? (and gents)

Nice idea, particularly given the ridiculously overpriced dogeared second hand books to be found here BUT. Who's going to 'police' it? Penalties or disbarment for non return can be enforced in the UK, not here. As everything else.

I used this place while in NZ - could specify that I'd only post books within NZ due to high postage (unfortunately often ignored and I got requests from all over the globe, but just ignored them) - the problem is until there are enough members here we'll only have a few books to trade.

Hey mssabai,

PM me your postal address, as I'll just post you books when I am done (live in Lanta).

Although you might want to let me know what you like to read...?

Am in Columbia at present, but heading back in Dec. Will be in Bangkok for 10 days for work, so if you have a Christmas wish list, let me know and can pick up some stuff for you while I am there.

We really should catch up one day...

have fun
