Transfer Stamps To New Passport

Featured Replies

Tomorrow I will go and transfer the entry stamp to my new passport. I don't even know the number of the form I need to use. Is the form available online? Just trying to save myself a few minutes at the immigration office.

thanks....

Immigration will transfer your permission to stay/extension of stay/re-entry permit stamps (as appropriate) to your new passport. There is no charge but photo copies of old and new passport will be required and a one page form will need completing. A visa cannot be transferred and, if applicable, you would need to travel using both passports until the visa expires.

The immigration office in Jomtien would not transfer the stamp from my Filipino gf's old passport to her new passport. They required a letter from the embassy and would not budge.

Don't believe everything you read here because it can end up causing a lot of grief - In this case having to reschedule flights and hotel bookings at a considerable cost and an additional day in Bangkok to sort it all out.

A letter is a listed requirement but at least one Embassy (other than the Philippines) does not feel the need to issue. In Bangkok most have been able to do the transfer without the letter.
