Thai Banks Taking Over Loans From Loan Sharks?

Today my wife came up with an incredible story.

According to her, there were several farmers in the village who had debts to the loan sharks and who went to an official Bank to get a low intrest loan to pay back the loan sharks.

This was, according to her, told the farmers by the Government.

There was also, again according to her. been a roundup by the police of loan sharks debt collectors in diverse places and the government was going to try to put an end to the loan sharks bussiness.

Is it true that the Banks are loaning money at low intrest to farmers who want to pay back an existing loan with loan sharks?

That would be the most unbelievable story from the year.

Yes your right unbelievable, first Thai bank have a lot off uncollecteble debts so they not intresting to get more off this risky loans.

If there was a little or no risk involved because they had a sustainable income and/or guarantee the farmers got a loan with this bank in the first place.

Maybe for a few who have prove off income or guarantee.
