Accidental Death In Thailand

Featured Replies

a friend of mine was recently killed in a bike crash. there are many discrepancies about what actually happened and i've heard some weird things regarding the story, so i'm getting the feeling there is something being hidden. basically i have two concerns:

how long is the body usually held for at the hospital/morgue? is it possible that it gets released within hours after the incident, without autopsy or anything? especially since nobody know what really happened.

wouldnt the motorbike be held as evidence? apparently someone commissioned its repair very soon after the incident......

I am very sorry for your friend. Have you asked the police about a report? Since the accident was fatal, they should have made a site report. And as this is Thailand, what should have been done and what actually is done, are more often than not, not the same thing. So to answer your questions in short:

It is possible that the body is released without an autopsy. But then released to whom? Did he have family here?

And as much as the bike can be evidence, it is quite possible that it was removed and take to repair. If your friend was on the bike and a car was involved and maybe the cause of the accident and the car was driven by a prominent thai, well TIT.

I am not saying this is the case, merely that it would be possible. It has happened.
