Missed The Date To Extend First Stamp Of A Dbl Entry Visa By 1 Day

Featured Replies

If this topic has popped up in the forums before I apologize in advance, but I'm a bit nervous about this situation. I received my original Double Entry tourist visa for Thailand in Laos on October 6 (I need to use the second entry before January 5). I was stamped into Thailand on October 7. I had planned on getting the 30 day extension, but just blanked on when I needed to go, assuming I had until December 8th (tomorrow) to get that done. I don't mind paying the 1 day overstay (that's my fault entirely), but can I still get the 30 day extension or did I just screw that chance up? Does a day make a difference or am I going to need to head for the border? Thanks for any advice. I'm going to the Immigration Office in Chiangmai tomorrow regardless to try to get this cleared up.

The holidays should save you. Believe you will get the extension. But remember you need to return to start your second entry on the day before the expiration date on your visa at the latest. And next time do not wait until the last day - you can make the extension of stay a week early and not lose anything - it starts at the end of your current permitted to stay stamp.
