Fake Explosive Device Removed From Staff Quarters Of Local Hotel.

Featured Replies

Pattaya, December 8 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : On Monday Evening, Police received an urgent call to the front of staff quarters of the Island View Hotel in the Pratamnuk area to deal with a suspicious package. At the scene, Police Officers inspected the package which appeared to be an explosive device. There was a timer and batteries wrapped in black masking tape, and it was revealed that the item was originally found outside one of the rooms and then placed in the road. Police decided not to call the Royal Thai Navy Bomb Disposal Unit and slowly dismantled the home-made device which was found not to contain any explosive material. Police spoke with Khun Surirak aged 46 who works as a cleaner at the Island View Hotel. She revealed that her daughter, who also works at the Hotel, had recently broken up with her Husband who had been threatening to blow her family up if she did not re-start the relationship. Khun Surirak refused to allow her daughter to communicate with her Husband any longer which is thought to have led him to place the fake device outside of her room on Monday Night. Police are now attempting to locate Khun Tamanoon, who is thought to have planted the device.
