Best Place To Get A Non-b

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am living in Bangkok and need to go across a border to get my non-immigrant B visa. I am looking at heading out at the beginning of January. Maybe the 2nd or 3rd and coming back on the 5th. Just a quick trip. I have already spent enough time in Cambodia and would prefer another location. Some place cheap/not difficult to get the paperwork processed. Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Most people choose to go to KL, but Penang, Vientiane and Kota Bharu will also issue.

You will have to show WP3 receipt from labour office (confirming application made for work permit) to the embassy/consulate as part of the visa application papers (see link below) if not already held. If appropriate, your employer will need to start the process of applying for your work permit before you apply for your Non-B visa. Once your Non-B visa is issued, the local labour office will need to see your passport showing the Non-Immigrant visa before they will handover the work permit. Will be single entry visa first time around, but can obtain multiple entry visa later when work permit is available (or can then apply for extension of stay based on employment at Thai immigration if you meet the requirements).

Thanks. The flights are pretty pricey!!! Guess my visa expires at a bad time. Anyone hear anything about getting a non-b in Ho Chi Min? Is it possible? Easy?

Thanks!

Looks possible. Recent report of success here.

I chose Singapore - the place was empty when I turned up.

what paperwork do you need to take to have the visa issued? I'm not sure I want to pay a legal firm here about 8,000 baht for the services. Is there any other way?

Wherever you go, it will be very busy on 04 January. That is the first opening day after the holidays.
