Any suggestions for a good Bangkok retail stores accessible by BTS/MRT selling a reasonably broad range of supplies for domestic wiring and diagnostics? I'm not happy with either the selection or staff at Home Pro. And I haven't found anyplace that sells inexpensive neon voltage testers.

When you are driving/walking up and down any of the main sois keep you're eyes open for small shops that sell electrical products. Usually they have signage or product out on the front side you can spot. These small shops are the local suppliers of product to the local electricians. Most of these guys sell everything that is in common use including tools and test gear.

I fitted my whole house from a shop like this in Rayong. Good prices and they ordered stuff and got it in in two days if needed. It just happened the shop I bought from seemed to specialize in lighting and switches. But they carried all the other stuff.

The places are there you just need to be observant.
