A friend of mine who lives in Thailand tells me that you can go through the local marriage cerimony and have your marriage recognised by the people in the village without having got you decree absolute from the previous marriage. He says once you have decree absolute sent over you can then set about registering the marriage in the usual way. Is this correct??? It does not seem to be.
