December 13, 200916 yr I've got my honda sonic for about 4 years now and it has only driven about 7000 Km but now it seems to be having problems starting when it's cold.. it just shuts off and when it runs softly and I pull the gas it also dies... only at half choke it will stay running then it seems to need a little time warming up before I can drive.. could anything be wrong ?? or is it normal at these colder months in thailand I already cleaned the carburator today it ran better at daytime but tonight when the cold came in it wouldn't start in 1 time again.. Please help
December 13, 200916 yr These symptoms are caused by a lean fuel mixture. Check that all fasteners on the intake side (carb, manifold) are secure. If available, try to richen up the idle mixture. There will - or should be - several screw adjustments on the carb - one for idle speed, one for low-speed mixture. If no mixture screw, try raising the needle in the carb - under the top - one notch. I am not familiar with your model of bike, but these are genearic cures of a lean mixture.
