On 30 Day Tourist Visa And I Need Extension

Featured Replies

Im here on a on arrival 30 day Tourist visa.

This runs out on the 17th December, is it possible to go to any border near to Bangkok to get a 30 day extension or are they all now 15 days?

Alternatively i believe i can go to a local immigration office and get an extension does anyone know how long this is for. how much it costs and what i need to take with me to get it, also where is this office.

All help much appreciated

15 days at any land border, 30 days if you fly in, 7 days at immigration

I suspect you obtained a 30 day visa exempt entry on arrival at the airport, which is not a visa. Tourist visas are normally issued giving 60 day permission to stay. If you are on visa exempt entry the maximum extension you could obtain from immigration would be 7 days, and likely requiring sight of air ticket out of the country within that time period. Fee 1,900 baht.

A border run would give you new 15 day permission to stay at land crossing, or 30 days if arriving by air. The nearest border to Bangkok is Cambodia, and would suggest you use the services of a visa run company who will do everything for you. The cost is around 2,000 baht, which includes the visa for Cambodia. Many such companies advertise in the classifieds section of the english newspapers.

Cheers for the info looks like a day out at the casino it will be, to try and make the day a little more fun.

Does anyone know if the casino buses leave everyday from BKK and if so where from and at what times, i'm near Emporium .

Also if i take a 20 dollar bill will they have to accept it, or will they push me for 1000 baht or whatever they claim these days, the fact i will be going to the casino will put me in a stronger negotiation situation i believe as ive been to the border before and know the score a little, but ive not been for a while hence why i'm not sure of the situation these days.

Finally my return plane ticket is an e-ticket with Emirates if i take a copy of this will it be enough to prove when i'm leaving Thailand, as i know the Thai end will try and scam me for a few hundred baht for this.

The visa run company will take care of that. Its all included in the price

Believe most casino buses start from the Rama IV Lumpini Park Entrance area starting very early (0500 I think). And every 30 minutes or hour after that.

They do not have to accept anything. You do not need a ticket on the Thai side - that ended a year or so ago.
