Registration Of Migrant Worker Children

Recommended Posts

Just found out that the governement has opened the books for the legal registration of Thai born children of legal migrant workers, who are aged 5-15. The child should have a valid Thai birth certificate.

Registration can be done at the local Ampur where the parents are registered as migrant workers and will give the child residency rights in Thailand, as well as access to schooling and health care on the same basis as other Thai kids.

The registration is only open till the 18th of December...so there is only a couple of days left.

Thanks, this can be very useful to several students on my old school.

my ampur knew all about the programme, so officals should know about it across the country. I'd stress that while this is not a 'now or never' opportunity, the ampur said that these registrations only open sporadically, and they don't know when the next one will open up.
