No, I said I am under 55. I wouldn't be searching through this forum for help if I was over!

If you are Under 50 - you can always get a Non-Immigrant-O with Multy entries based on Visiting Friends/Relatives - this visa is valid for 1 year with 90 day border runs. With this visa you can stay in Thailand up to 15 x 30 days.

Go to the Perth Thai Consulate. I'm under 50 years of age as well. I've been staying here for the past 3 years on Non-Immigrant-O visa doing border runs every 90 days (it's not so bad) - and in two years I'll be applying for the O-A visa (Retirement).

You did allright???? Here is what you said:"DegenFarang, I am in a similar position to you. I want to move to Thailand on a permanent basis, but because I don't have a job or study lined up, I am under 55 and am I not married to a Thai, I can't seem to find a reasonably simple way to do this! "

You paid your fees and despite the fact that you say unkind things about our school we are contractually obliged to take good care of you. If you do not want our help that is your choice but as long as you are a paying customers you have the right to demand quality service from the Walen school and we are here to deliver it.

Walen School - You demand we deliver!

Kwilson76 I guess you do not understand

1) If you are under 50 it is a problem visawise

2) If you range between 50 and 55: no problems You fit the retirement's requirement

3) If you are 55 + no problems; no problems You fit the retirement's requirement

Do you see a difference between points 2 and 3? No? well it is because there is none therefore you are either under 50 or over 50

This is why your post (and your insistance) is frustrating

I should also add that you'd better enquire about the teaching position you intend to get, especially if you do it on humanitarian grounds, as, it would still be illegal (unless I am mistaken)
