On Friday Evening at Banglamung Police Station, Police Colonel Somnook, the Chief of the Station held a press conference to announce the arrest of 5 men in connecting cases relating to class 1 drugs. The Colonel explained that Khun Mana aged 42 was the first to be arrested with 1.3g of Crystal Methamphetamine, known in Thailand as “Ya Ice”. He was happy to give up the name of his supplier, Khun Pricharpon aged 33 who was located and found to be in possession of 15g of the same drug. A further arrest of a 27 year old female then took place. Khun Suhatayar was arrested and caught with 16.8g of the drug. Finally two more people further up the drug supply chain, Khun Tongtaerm aged 40 and Khun Siriporn aged 34 were arrested and caught with 60.6g of the drug. Police also seized a number of motor vehicles from the suspects, which are thought to have been purchased with the proceeds of the sale of the narcotics. It was also revealed by the Colonel that one of the arrestees, Khun Tongtaerm was an officer of the court but would not reveal the location of the court where he was employed. The group has all been charged with a variety of class 1 drug offences and will appear in court next week.

I guess the immunity given by being "in the system" doesn't work as well as it used to.
