FarangCravings
shipping an item into Thailand Can anyone give first hand experience on shipping something to thailand I want to order something off ebay and want to try and avoid all the bullshit that normally goes with it I heard that if you use EMS its better than using ups or fedex as they usually try to scam you over import charges its nothing major just a custom motorcycle helmet coming in from Bali any advice appreciated cheers
elektrified
I've received many packages from all over Europe, U.K., the USA, Vietnam, Australia, Korea and Japan. Don't use EMS first of all. Just regular registered Airmail. Ask the sender to declare the package as a "gift" with a value of no more than 20 USD, 20 AUD, 20 Euros, 10 GBP, etc. Never insure the package. Don't use FedEx, EMS, DHL, etc. You'll pay duty for sure.

realthaideal
Come on FC, you aren't some newbie ! Essentially all topics here are either opinions or requests. We put a description in the title or subtitle so that ppl can accurately choose which ones to read. Then this box could very well be called 'answers'..........to 'requests'. But actual info is always better than platitudes, isn't it ? btw, for certain items, when possible I'm for having someone carry them in for me as a favor - ie finding someone I know, or a friend of a friend who can bring something in with them. Easier this time of year with many folks visiting for the holidays.
