Passport

Featured Replies

My son's ( he is 4years old) passport will expire next July. His current extension is based on my wife's non-immigrant O visa. Could someone help me out with the process for getting it renewed. I know it is a bit down the road, but I would like to stay on top of it. Thanks for any advice.

You do not say what nationality your son is? British for example can renew their passports up to ten months in advance with the unused part being added to the new passport you then take both passports to immigration for transfer of information.

Thanks for the response.

He has US and Japanese citizenship.

You should always renew with more than six months remaining as passport becomes useless for most travel with less than six months (visas will not be issued by most countries). You failed to mention which passport needs renewal.
