New Immigration Office Trip With Photo

Featured Replies

I had to go to the new immigration office to renew my 90 day. I took the BTS train to Mo Chit and got in a taxi. Little did I know that after showing the taxi driver the address in Thai did it become obvious that he really did not know where it was after saying he did. Having suffered through this type of madness before I got out of the taxi and got into another. I showed him the address(in Thai and English) and off we went.

The traffic, as others have pointed out, is terrible. It took nearly 40 minutes in the taxi and costs about 150 baht. However when we turned onto the main blvd where the building was located everything was new and shiny. The street was new, new trees planted, nice artificial lake and the building is beautiful. I attached a photo of the building for all to see.

The signs in the building are clearely marked where you are to go. I was literally in and out in less then ten minutes. Their seems to be less traffic going back to Mo Chit and the taxi fare was a bit less. In all a pleasant uneventful trip (sans the first taxi driver).

Here is the address in Thai:

ด่านตรวจคนเข้าเมือง

You can do the 90 day report at the BOI one stop visa centre http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Stop-Service...Ce-t315823.html which is probably more conveniently located for most people.

If you really have to go to Bangkok immigration take bus no. 52 from Mo Chit - cost 8 Baht. Get off at the stop just after the CAT Telecom building, walk back, cross the road and take the free shuttle bus (first stop from there), clearly marked in English. Traffic will be the same, cost considerably less :)
