English Name For The Plant "sappalot"

Featured Replies

I've seen some plants I might like but I'm not able to find any info on them on the internet so I think it must be their thai name. They call it Sappalot. Not sure about spelling but this is what it sounds like. They are epiphytes. They are 5-10cm big dark red greenish goblets of leaves and are supposed to get flowers but didn't have any now. Always sold in a bunch growing on a piece of wood or thick rope.

I hope someone knows their english or latin name!

Pineapple called "Sappalot", maybe it's the same family of plants...

Sapalot in Thai สับปะรด is the pineapple. Botanical name: Ananas comosus, Plant family: Bromeliaceae .

correct spelling is sapparot.

maybe the plant you are asking about is a small pinaple

Sappalot is indeed a pine-apple. If you know what you are looking for, maybe this site http://www.natureloveyou.sg/Plants-A.html comes in handy. You need to know the scientific name, but there are pictures also, so maybe you can find it on that site.

Filling epiphyte pineapple on google image brought me to neoregilia families and eventually to the Neoregelia ampullacea x Fireball.

I think this must be it:

Several hanging on a piece of wood looks great :)
