Telephone Trouble?

Featured Replies

Has anyone experienced telephone trouble today? I am able to receive calls in the US from Thailand, but am not able to get a return call to go through. There doesn't appear to be any issues with the stateside carrier. They are experiencing the same problem with a circuit test. The line just stays silent, no fast busy, no nothing. After a minute or two, the stateside carrier call request times out and goes to a busy with recorded message saying call to the country cannot be completed at this time.

PS.

Mods feel free to put this thread to sleep if no response or once the problem goes away.

Had a problem yesterday, same same.no dail tone on house phone.Reports from US. said they got same reaction your people did.Dail tone came back and no problems today.Have TOT by the way.

It's usual busy times of the year, all the available lines get tied up at Christmas and New Year with Farangs 'phoning home.

Is this from a mobile or a land line? I occasionally have problems getting through to Australia on my mobile when using the + symbol as the IDD access code. Someone from AIS told me to try 008 or 009 as the access code whenever that happens, and I have always managed to get through with one of these.

I had the same problem in the past (land lines) and was told by the phone company that CAT temporarily closes a few incoming gateways to create more capacity for outgoing calls.
