I ve been told 30 days, and she can change her name in tabian baan and get new ID card, but not sure. the sentence is from today, in Bangkok Court, and she was married before with a farang, of course she took his name before. Can anybody advise? By the way, Sorry for my english, I not mothertongue.

Maybe the law change My wife divorced her Ex some time ago and she got the divorce Cert in less than 1 Hr

She went to the amphur withe her Ex and it took less than 1 hr.

Maybe if the husband don't go and agree she has to wait the 30 days

It is not a divorce agreed by the parties. I mean the man formerly her husband is still not aware she asked divorce and go o lawyer. The man wnet back 2 years ago to Europe and never came back to see her or emal or call her, nor leave European address. The judje gave on November 15 days to him to give opposition to the divorce but he did not appear... I do not know what to think about these 30 days.

In my experience it takes about 6 weeks to receive the divorce court order once the divorce court gives a verdict.

She needs to have an updated I.D. card showing her current name and marital status, marriage certificate and Tabian Baan. If the marriage certificate is not available she needs to make a police loss report and take the loss report in lieu of the marriage certificate. She also needs to make 2 photocopies each of the I.D. card and Tabian Baan.

Take those documents, photocopies and the court order to the Umphur. Registering divorce and obtaining the divorce certificate can be done without her Ex husband in attendance.

Processing the divorce at the Umphur is easy and should take an hour or so if the Umphur isn’t busy.

The Umphur will issue 1 divorce certificate and annotate the rear of the Khor Ror 6 "Registration of Divorce" with the details of the court order. The signature space where the other party would normally sign the Khor Ror 6 is annotated “Verdict in lieu of consent”.

She nominates any name changes she wishes when processing the divorce. Afterwards she needs to update her I.D. card and Tabian Baan to her new name.

Thanks Farma. so I understand it is only a matter of burocracy, I mean she has to wait until the verdict given by the judge yesterday is written in a paper, as court order. And the secretarial service of the judge has to pass iot to her lawyer. So this court order is not yet a "certificate of divorce" but the document by wchi she can get the certificate of divorce from the Amphur. Am I right?

Yes that's right.

The court order gives permission for the divorce. She then produces the court order as authority to divorce at the Umphur. The Umphur retains the court order on file and issues her one Divorce Certificate plus certified copies of the Khor Ror 6 Registration of Divorce. This completes the process and finalizes the divorce.
