Visa Run?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have to do a visa run soon, I'm considering flying with Bangkok air from Koh Samui to Singapore and back on the next flight. There is a 50 minute window between landing and when the next flight takes off.

Has anyone else done this as an option before? Did you have sufficient time?

Any and all help appreciated.

Leon.

This is possible if:

1. The aircraft is on time (remember Singapore is a 1 hour time difference)

2. The line at immigration is short (depending on arrival time this can be a problem) arriving there on very first flight of morning 7:00 AM seems to be best time

3. One time I tried the same thing except the line at immigration was an hour long. I went over to the side desk and explained to the officer and he stamped my passport and let me go on with no delay

Good luck

I very much doubt you could do this. BKK Air flt arrives SIN at one of the busiest times of the day 1920 and you will spend most of the 50 mins in the immigration queue. Minimum check in time is 1.15 hours for BKK Air international flights.

You will have to onite in SIN and return the next day IMO.

Hi Nio,

Thanks for the prompt response.

As far as I can see, there is only 1 flight each day from Samui to Singapore and all are at the same time, the plane lands at 19:20, before departing back to Samui again at 20:10. Have you had experience with this one? Has anyone?

Thanks again,

Leon

Hmmm, Ok, I expected this was likely the case, no harm in hoping though... Thanks for the reply.

Regin Hotel - good budget hotel in SIN

Catch the MRT to Kallang station & the hotel is a 500 metre walk, take carry on bag only.

Tried for 3 years calling BKK office, no way. It is an international flight....

Staying one day makes the trip a very expensive visa run...

I have to do it end of month, and by air unfortunately Firefly go only to Subang, and only on Sunday there is a flight next day.

The old flight to Penang was cheap and better.

I think i will stay one night in Hat Yai, border is at 30 minutes....

50 min NO
