Ethiopian Food

I wish. Really miss it. The closest Ethiopian places I know about are in Perth or Tokyo. I don't believe there are any anymore in SE Asia. Of course Ethiopian food is so distinctive that no other kind of food can come close to satisfying a craving for it.

I think I'll stop by the Bangkok offices of Ethiopian Air on Monday and see where the Ethiopians eat (if any are stationed here.)

It's a longshot but maybe the stewardesses can come over to my place on their layover and make me some great food! :)

It is possible to cook some of the basic dishes at home. You won't find tef here but you can make injera with wheat flour and an ersatz doro wat (etc.) is possible. I didn't think Abyssinia Cafe was that great but better than nothing.

Hey, I think even I could do this berbere powder recipe (for doro wat, etc.) if I wasn't so lazy. The good thing about powder instead of paste is it is dry and you can store for a long time. Maybe someday.

Oh you also need Spiced Clarified Butter Nit'ir Qibe (another complex recipe) to do this right. Never mind! I doubt the airline workers have the time!
