Thanks for clearing that up.

people do drive through Thailand a lot to Oz.

Guess mine is a little different as the car is Thai registered and have to deal with Thai rules and regs....but feel it must be possible.

Anyway, i shall get the missus or someone to call transport department and start asking questions.

Customs Department too.

I'm still following this with avid interest. I want to drive it too.

BTW contact Perkins Marine in Dili, apparently they do all the shipping from there to Darwin

Cheers

Dili is east timor right ?

Not going that far, only Kupang in west side of the island.

Sounds like a great adventure. Interested in the outcome; if you do go a travel-log of experience and costs would be good to hear.

Any good at video's; make one of the trip?

They do a lot of shipping out of Bali to Christmas Island at the moment; but that's for the refugees. Seriously, there might be a sipping service from Bali to Christmas Is. Then there is a service from Christmas Is to the mainland (maybe Broome?)

Good luck with the adventure.

Chris

Christmas Island shipping gets into Western Australia at Fremantle. Bali, C Is to WA is an expensive way of doing it, better to head straight for Darwin.
