Window Mail Problem

Hi there,

I have a problem with Windows Mail. I can recieve email perfectly well, but I cannot send them. I get a error;

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: OMYC', Account: 'mail.optusnet.com.au', Server: 'mail.optusnet.com.au', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10013, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I have had this problem in my previous visits, but not bothered to fix it, and just sent emails via the web based thingy. Now I m living here, and starting a job at the end of the week, I would love to fix it.

I have searched the previous pages for a similar topic, but did not see anything. Please accept my apologies if this is duplcated. I do appreciate any help you can give me.

Hi there,

I had an "expert" look at the problem after posting, and he sorted it for me. Had to change the outgoing setings to a local internet providor/account.

All works well now.

Setup any gmail a/c - use smtp.gmail.com Port 587 - I travel 24/7 - use it everywhere - dont need 'experts'
