Indy 4 Mb - Can't Connect Since Days!

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have an Indy 4 MB contract, and am starting to lose my temper with this crap .. there isn't a single month where I can use Internet without having at least 3-5 days offline (Pattaya).

This time again ... offline since 4 days now! On my SmartAX MT880 modem, the "ADSL link" and "LAN link" LEDs are red, all others green (the ACT LEDs blink occationally in green color).

The strange thing is that the woman at the frontdesk in Carrefour building checked my modem said that is works fine for her and I have no reason to distrust her. So the problem seems to occur only in my room or our building... but what can be the reason?

When I connect a phone on the same line, I can dial any number in good quality, so the line itself seems to be okay.

Any idea how to fix that or experiences over what might be the reason for my connection problems?

thanks,

p

I assume you already called the helpdesk (1103 - I know they have a new number as well but this one still works) and reported the problem? In my experience they're fairly quick to get back to you with a fix.

yes, I have called them numerous times ... 1530 is the new number.

However, I have bad experiences with them, 4 out of 5 times they don't call back.

Of about 10 calls during the last 4 days, I received one call back yesterday,

and a friendly woman said I should enter username and password again and

restart the modem then it will be okay ... I thanked her, did that ... and it still didn't work.

Which didn't come as a big surprise, since U+P are stored on my modem just fine. :)

I'm really curious over what could be the source of this problem since I can call

phone numbers from the same line without any problems.

cheers p.

(p.s. like your footer link ... I am running their software since a couple of weeks too)

Yeah could be an incorrect username/password. Maybe they deleted your entry (in their servers) by accident. Maybe the DSLAM needs to be restarted. All of it stuff they need to do in the helpdesk.

Did you set the VPI/VCI settings as well (and select PPPoE)?

I've had a router loose all settings once, no idea why, but had to set everything again, including port-forwarding and the works...

Maxnet worked great for me a long time but then I got the same problem you are having, internet not working, call them many times and they say everything fine no problem, well not here ! I can test and program my router just fine, there was nothing wrong on my end other than the dns server would not respond. Im figuring somehow I got kicked out of the system probably login details but could never get anyone to go look at that. Needless to say I finally dropped them and switched services.
