Working Micropayment System ?

Featured Replies

Is there any working system for worldwide micro payments (let's say 1 Euro / US $) ?

A quick google gives "daopay" as the only company that truly covers the whole world using SMS and phone payments. But they seem expensive, give you less than half.

Anybody out there with a personal experience from receiving micro payments ?

Maybe I should add that paypal or credit cards wouldn't work because the sort of people I am looking at don't have paypals.

Hi Bow, many of the micropayment systems that rely on levying the charge via premium voice calls or premium SMS will typically pay you out 50% of the end-user charge because the other 50% is retained by the telecoms networks!

Daopay is not bad because there are no set-up or montly fees.

Another option is Bango [dot] com, which offers a mobile pay system that uses premium SMS, Paypal and credit-cards...

But I think for global coverage, Daopay is your best option. You need to make their revenue share work with your business model.

If you need any help to integrate Daopay into your website, I've written the integration/callback code in PHP, and am happy to send you a free copy (but you will need a PHP programmer to tweak it for your exact needs)

Thanks for some truly useful information.

I might come back to you in a couple of months time. It is all at a very early stage. I am not ready to give up my day job.
