Red Bull Extra In Thai Market.

Hello everyone

I need some help from you who knows much about energy drinks. I'm facing much problems since I'm not Thai...

I'm studying advertising and i have this assignment about RedBull Extra in Thai market.  In specific, i'm preparing a Creative Brief.

Here is my question begins, how is 'extra' different than original?  I understand that normally Thai people don't separate Redbull original and Redbull Extra, even though 'extra' is targeting quiet different segment.

and since that reason, i can't figure out what is the perception on Thais for Redbull extra. What do they normally feel when they think of Red bull extra compare with other energy drinks like max or shark?

which country are you from, as Redbull in Thailand is alot different to Redbull in the UK or USA

I'm not so sure they are different.

For sure the users aren't.

Energy drink users worldwide don't seem to have the energy to dispose of their empties properly!!!

Just look around whereever energy drinks are sold: Most of the carelessly discarded empties are energy drinks. :)

Do they have Redbull extra in Thailand?

I buy M150 / Karabou / Red Bull everyday from 7/11 or family mart and cannot remember seeing Redbull extra.

My experiences tell me that in Thailand..Redbull is for loso people doing long jobs ie. truck/taxi driving..

Me, I drink it before sports...not that it helps me much :)

Redbull extra is everywhere up here in Isaan. Easier to find that Shark, which is my preferred tipple as it is fizzy.

WHy is Thai Redbull not fizzy?

Do they have Redbull extra in Thailand?

Just seen in the petrol station here in the UK, Red Bull Extra, it is basically a Thai Redbull M150 , but they charge 1.89 for it so 165 THB !!!!!!!

Trouble with UK Redbull is it is diluted and fizzy, not like our Thai conterpart

Just look at the packaging and the concept and you will surely find your answers.

Do not distinguish between Redbull Extra and traditional Thai Redbull because there is no traditional Thai Redbull. In Thailand there has always only beem Krating Daeng while in the remainder of the world there is Red Bull. Red Bull is the trade mark for worldwide success while Krating Daeng is limited to Thailand.

Krating Daeng is traditionally a blue collar energy drink packed in unattractive brown bottles. Red Bull Extra featuring the script "Red Bull" in English is a new concept targeting at a new consumer group. An extension of Krating Daeng to attract the yuppie, the raver, the disco type consumer. Basically the clientele Red Bull is targeting worldwide. Therefore, a slender type can has been chosen and the sales price is about 20% higher because it is absolutely not in the sense of the newly targeted consumer group to be associated with the blue collar class.
