Uk Settlement & 3rd Party Support

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'd like to apply for a settlement visa for my non-british wife.

My main issue is that i don't have a bank account, or any documents to show sign of wealth (in my own name).

We are both over 21 , and are being supported by my father (who isn't British, and lives/works in BKK)

I don't even have an "official" job or occupation yet, as i'm simply helping my father run a family business.

If i can show my fathers earnings to be in excess of £100,000 p/a , and attach a letter from him saying he will cover all costs for min 2 years , without us recoursing to any public funds , will that suffice ?

How else do i "officially" show 3rd party support ?

Also, accommodation isn't a problem as our family in the UK are willing to sponser us

I'd appreciate any feedback.

Thank You.

Wow !

Thanks you for the link, very interesting, and quite timely as well.

Just to confirm, please bear with this laymen, all i need is a letter from a reliable 3rd party stating he/she will be responsible for my (and my wifes) expenses and maintenance in UK, and that we will not have to recourse to any public funds.

Is that all ?

According to my understanding of the judgement, the residence of the benefactor, be it in UK or abroad, is not an issue.

Please correct me if i'm misinterpreting anything.

Many Thanks,

Xain
