Environmental problems are threatening to leave the once pristine island of Samet in a horrendous mess.

Thanks to booming tourism, the island's four-rai landfill can no longer accommodate the tonnes and tonnes of garbage left behind by the rising number of tourists.

I voted yes, except for the high spending tourists in line with the recent policy announcement. :)

Just limit the amount of tourists or let them pay say 300bt extra for taking away all the garbage. But a sceme like that would not work because of corruption. I cant see why its so hard to transport the garbage. Just my point of view.

ban tourism in Thailand that will stop the farangs throwing thier rubbish everwhere messing up this beautiful clean country.

Some public trash cans and a police force that actively enforces a littering law (not only when it comes to farangs) would help too. Or we could just ban tourism. DERP.
