taxexile
at last , a proper, real and true , down to earth english football club has made it to the final. chelsea and man.u. , in spite of all their successes , have of late been pretenders and have lacked that undefinable spirit that makes a football club what it is. good luck to them in turkey. p.s. eat your heart out thaksin. Sunderland
And so the downward spiral begins. Russian does a runner. Mourinho finds a new challenge. Lampard, Terry, Robben, etc jump ship. Chelsea slide down the league. Two years later find themselves adrift in the middle of the Coca-Cola Championship with the prospect of a local derby with Brentford ... fw1
Good to see a big club show the SW London posers what it's all about. Afterall, they've got the players to beat anyone. AC Milan are probably glad of this result, unjustifiably so.

fw1
Well remembered, and if that 80's team could play the current one, I somehow suspect they would thrash the a.r.s.e off it. Irrespective of how many Englishmen play for Liverpool, I doubt whether they will ever put a side together that could beat the likes of Daglish & co. Definately the player I've ever seen play even though he never could get to grips with our plastic pitch. Have always liked that goal he scored at the bridge in the 86 season to secure the league, think the result was 3-3 but can't remember for certain.
