Electric Bicycles.

Featured Replies

Does anybody know of a shop in the Pattaya area who sell electric bicycles (Ebikes )

Not electric scooters. it has to have peddles. I have seen some for sale in Carrefour but they are very heavy and cumbersome.

What Im really looking for is a standard bicycle with an electric motor conversion.   :)

I checked into that sort of thing some years ago , there is a Tawanese company that sells a conversion kit , a rear wheel etc(or just the hub) that you instal on your own bycycle . Here in Phnom Penh I see quite a number of what you are looking for so I imagine they should be available in Thailand .

Yes I would like to have a go at this. it's getting hold of a suitable electric motor. any idea of what motor could be used. I would think that a car starter motor would used too much battery power. I need an economical light electric motor  :)

My wife bought one of these last year http://www.la-bicycle.com/e-ride/e-product...e_1000_2008.php

The manufacturers are Thai and you can find stockists all over Thailand - their dealership list is in Thai tho. Price for this model was about Bt22K. Our local LA Bicycle stockist didn't have one in stock and it took about a week to deliver.

She loves it - one of her prize possessions! We live on the edge of town and she doesn't drive (car or motorcy) so the bike gives her a bit of independence. No probs with it, battery good, is very sturdy.

How about one of these?

Looks interesting !  I remember riding a unicycle when I was a lot younger, and the times I fell off .... I think it might be advisable now to leave this one for the more agile amongst us   :)

interesting, but how do you balance yr shopping, groceries and computer on it, with the gf in tow :)

I also learned to ride a unicycle in my youth. I still remember to this day my first 6 peddles with out falling off.

I got pretty good at it in a short time and would ride all over the place. Great workout.

Now I sort of want one just for the heck of it. May look into it. My passions are bicycles and guitars. Never enough.
