Hi guys, my girlfriend needs to get her TB check in Bangkok just wondering of any right or wrong places to do it and how much it will cost. Also how long should it take if there are no problems. Thanks

The right places:

any medical hospitals (the real ones) with real doctors (not actors)

Wrong places:

any where else that is not a medical hospital (back alley, at home, etc.)

How is the TST Read?

The skin test reaction should be read between 48 and 72 hours after administration. A patient who does not return within 72 hours will need to be rescheduled for another skin test.

If she is tested positive, then she needs to get an x-ray or other tests to determine if it is a false positive. I am not a medical doctor but I used to deal with the issue.

As this is in the visa section I presume your g/f needs a TB test for a visa to the UK.

If so she has to go to the IOM centre. http://www.ukvac-th.com/tb.aspx

Requirement for Tuberculosis testing for applicants visiting the UK for longer than 6 months.

To obtain the necessary certificate, applicants will need to attend the clinic run by International Organisation for Migration (IOM) staff at:

Kasemkij Building

8th Floor, 120 Silom Road

Bangrak, Bangkok 10500

Tel: +66 2 234 7950-5

Fax: + 66 2 234 7956

Email: [email protected]

Attendance is by appointment only and the full test fee of 2600 Baht must be paid in advance.

Your previous posts have asked about a UK spouse visa, so follow the advice from Sumrit above.

This is not the first time I've edited one of your topics as you have neglected to say which country you are applying to. Please remember that this forum deals with inquiries about all countries except Thailand and include the country you are asking about in the topic title.

Tel: +66 2 234 7950-5

This number is incorrect.

It should read: +66 2 234 7950 1

Apologies if it's wrong, I just cut and pasted the information directly from the VFS centre's website. :)
