Hi, any idea where I can buy street maps of Sydney and Melbourne in Bangkok? Going there next week with my TG who surprised me with this as my birthday present.

Thank you.

hmm, as not even the many OZzies on TV seem able to answer, I'll do my best. the bigger/better english bookshops, like Asia and KinoKuniya, start with those in Paragon or maybe Emporium, do stock various maps of destinations all around this world. Its always a matter of hit and miss if they stock these-but staff are always quite hepful and can see on their computer if there might be another branch stocking them if they have sold out. ASIA might even be able to get them sent over in a week or so to that branch.

Frankly: i think you do much better with a guidebook if youre not Australian. And if you are-wait till there at Kingsford Smith airport. If youre not OZzie-dont forget the visa-arrangement!

If you are just after the normal "tourist" type map of the cities, you can pick them up for free in Australia either at your hotel or at any tourist information office. If you really want street maps of Melb and Syd then you should purchase a "Gregory's" street directory, also on arrival in Australia. They are sold at most gas stations, supermarkets, department stores, bookshops and newsagents. They run to about A$70.00 each
