Thai Visa Questions

Featured Replies

hi there,

i'm wanting to come to Thailand around the end-ish of May and return the first week in September for starting back to uni, this will be 15 weeks, around 105 days. I was checking on the embassy website and it seemed to me that I would need a non-imm O. However, I got a bit confused.

Is my best option to get a Non-imm O single entry which lasts up to 90 days? Then before those 90 days are up, go to the immigration office and apply for an extention?

If so, how much is this extention?

And will I need to show my return tickets as proof of return at any point, from applying for the visa to arrival at airport? On the visa application it says proposed duration of stay (or similar), so if I say - 90 days, but my return ticket is showing that it will be after this then..

finally, is it pretty easy getting the extention? ie. not being refused it

thanks

A single Non O cannot be extended. You would need to apply for another Visa in Asia.

A Double Entry Tourist Visa would work. Each entry would give 60 days and can be extended for a further 30 days at Immigration giving a total of almost 6 months with a border run in the middle.

BTW after March 4th the fee has to be paid. They will no longer be free.
