Need Visa Advice About A Cruise

Featured Replies

My Thai girlfriend and I are going on a cruise on the Star Virgo out of Singapore next month for 5 days. I am American. I am not sure whether we need visas for the countries we will visit. We are only visiting Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. I dont think we need to get visas before hand from the respective consulates but I'm not sure. Anyone been through this before who can give me a little guidance? We each have passports from our respective countries. Thanks!

International ports do follow the same rules of airports or any other immigration point, so if you hold a passport from one of the Countries eligible for Visa on arrival, no need to worry.

Besides, it should be a process handled by the staff of the cruise before your disembarkation in each destination.

Thanks for that. You would think the cruise line would help on these issues but they are absolutely useless. I was amazed.

You are both eligible for visa exempt stays at those destinations.

Thank you. That is what I thought but better safe than sorry!
