trogers
Have a few dozens (180-240 mins) video cassettes that I want to convert to digital files. Looking to buy an inexpensive Digital Video Recorder (DVR) to do the conversions. Not those units used in a CCTV system. I am also looking out for a media player that can handle the most video and audio codec range, and have at least a 500GB built-in hard drive with memory expansion for an external hard drive. Any suggestion and indication of make and models (better still with prices), and location of shops in Bangkok are greatly appreciated.
garyh
You can also buy TV Tuner cards for you PC that will do the conversion also they are not expensive.

Yes, but I would rather not tie down my 6-year old PC and monitor full time for the conversion.
garyh
Just was not sure if you where aware of that option, how was I to know your PC is past it. Edited February 11, 2010 by garyh

LOL...actually, my PC though old, is running in Win 7 with 2 GB ram. Did upgrade the motherboard and graphic card a couple of years back, but still using a single core Pentium processor. I am using it mainly for torrents and converting and burning DVDs. For business, I am using a laptop running 64-bit Win 7.
