As the title, I need an OS for a small PC and I could do with Win 7 64 bit for another. Now if they are in different countries, what will happen ? Will one just quit or will they both quit and stop working, rendering both PCs useless ?

Any ideas ?

what planet are you on please let us know.

?????????

I thought easy to understand. Will the fact that it is on 2 PCs even though using different parts of the same license cause issues even though they are in different countries and when Microsoft calls home, will Bill Gates turn the juice off ?

If it's only two pcs it probably won't cause an issue. The alarm bells usually go off when it shows up on a lot of pcs.

Thinking about it, they would both be in the same place at the same time because I'd have to get the second one going before I get it deliverd to Thailand (both in UK to start). On the same IP address and then later, the second one on a Thai IP address, say a couple of weeks later.

Worried what would happen to my PC in the UK but more worried what would hapen to the PC the missus would have if it all went pear shaped and shut down as she has no idea what to do.

One of the reasons I am even contemplating doing it all in the UK and then shipping it over is so that she can literally get it out of the box and turn it on without having to go through any set up at all.

I know I could fork out for another license but they are both my PCs and I don't think you can get a 2 PC same household license. Don't really want to go "find" another product key as I reckon they are all scams.

My main worry is that once both are operational, it will flag as being in two places at one time. The other thing I read about Win 7 (and I knnow next to nothing) is that it stores or tells Microsoft the configuration of your PC and thus "knows" when it is on another PC.

Thanks again.
